Compatriots of Unity:Where Fate Meets Patriotism @9jaclicktivist

   
  Infact, every Nigerian can unite or divide this country, Compatriots valuest are unity based on Patriotism, and unity in certain eternal verities. Long before statesmanship attempted or accomplished Nigerian unification, The re-discovery, re-interpretation and renewed dissemination of classics, through the medium of Nigeria's many languages into one official Language the Lingua Franca (English) became a heroic deed: offering more understanding, more businesses and creative talks  and creating fair playing ground for peace and unity, thus, this is an essential expression of a unity renewal. Some interpret such efforts as Patriotism, It is an essential characteristic in the process that leads to the Unity. Patriotism is the “most powerful instrument for developing the geographical sense in the people which enables them to think and feel that Nigeria is not a mere congeries of geographical fragments, but a single though immense organism filled with the tide of one strong pulsating life from end on end.” 
The contemplation of the numerous ethnic groups scattered throughout the vast Niger Area (Nigeria) has the inevitable effect of extending the geographical horizon of the unlettered millions,  thus naturally and automatically would lead to expand the limits of the original narrow home or the land of our birth, and learn to identify it with a gradually widening area over which we are forced to traverse by patriotic  necessities in search of the unification scattered throughout it. Being a compatriot is a very effective goal of popular education in geographical consciousness.  “diversity in oneness”  is an essential differentiating fundamental.
      One nation and one people , Good people! great nation, much validates and consolidates our greatness in unity. Patriotism is a fundamental organic unity. Today my writeup should vend a variegated expressions and dimensions in a compatriot, Every Nigerian can celebrates these innumerable articulations and interpretations.without  allocating and allowing space to the manifestations of these diversities. We should discover and hold on closely underlying and sustaining unity amidst this our pulsating diversity 
Discourse of belonging to one Ethnic group or the other have assumed a dominant proportion in our daily living in  or so, mainly that the aid of institutional control has been preoccupied in debunking this underlying unity rather than trying to celebrate it we must not forget that first we are Nigerians. In the name of celebrating culture and tradition and Struggle, this discourse has only stressed on division, in the name of dispassionate research and such a discourse has only tried to dilute our sense of oneness, accrued over millennia. Such an intellectual propensity has displayed disdain towards any effort or quest at trying to re-discover or re-state our patriotic identity.
 One of the conditions for rediscovering and re-stating such an identity was independence and yet independence, I observed, it would become meaningless if we do not facilitate the description and situation of our identity, Nigerian ethnic group can be independent without trying to crop out a territory it plans or wish to  regard as a country, Agitators for division and total independence would  by itself become ineffective or incapable of spearheading the path of national progress or of moving ahead in consonance with the “struggle bent.”
It is essential that we make patriotism our national identity. Without this Patriotism there is no meaning to unity, neither can independence become the instrument of progress and happiness. As long as we are unaware of our national identity called  patriotism we cannot recognize or develop all our potentials.           
  Must we  think, lets have a retink, under alien rule, this identity was encourage and introduced and enforced, making us a nation. We were almagamated so that we can progress according to our natural bent so that we can experience happiness in our endeavour.” and general wellbeing. The neglect of this rediscoveryin this era of civilization, regeneration or rise begins when the night of false narratives is sought to be vanquished under the light of a new collective self-confidence. Why do we refer to the past or avert to it, why are agitations all around. Such a self-confidence attempts to situate Nigerians dynamically in the world-space, while seeking to re-discover and articulate her essential Patriotic identity. 

“The way to self-preservation is to awaken the Compatriot power within us and give it direction” and to “become what we actually are consciously, strongly, and in a dynamic and complete manner.”

Such an era of awakening“of the power within us”, has now irreversibly begun. It would thus be wise to strengthen those who, in this age of fate, lead such a renewal and guard against those who seek to sow seeds of doubt and dissension against such an epochal process. To resist with all one’s intellectual anyone who oppose such an evolutionary cycle in Nigeria history is  one of the cardinal needs of the moment. The adversaries are easy enough to recognise, be a compatrion be patriotic, that were fate leads us and its a been sanctioned in good fate since 1914, United we stand! divided we fall.
