Labour Bodies Has Played Into The Cunning Trap Of The Law - Fakiyesi Samuel

Comrade Fakiyesi Samuel, a Graduate of Law from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife has bash aside the Aliyu Wabba led Nigerian Labour Congress for playing in to the hand of the Federal government. Fakiyesi said this in a social media discussion in OAU WIKILEAKS monitored by Tell Times correspondent, I actually do not see their (NLC) protest producing any positive fruit. Why? Because of the years, the Labour leaders have presented themselves as a toothless bull dog that can only bark hard but can't bite. Fakiyesi also aver that before an industrial action begins, a 7day ultimatum ought to have been given to the federal government which is in contrast to the 3 days the union bodies give. However, it does not mean arguments can't be pushed against the positions of the AGF. In fact, his use of section 14 of the 1999 constitution, can be used against him. The planned strike is in fact in the interest of the nation. The Convener of Patriot For Societal Renewal (PFSR) also said the strike action does not need to be carried out by the union bodies alone. Non Governmental Organizations, well meaning Nigerians, students and youths can also decide to judiciously use their right to peaceful protest since the Labour bodies has played into the cunning trap of the Law. Meanwhile, It remains to be seen how long the Labour leaders will sustain the tempo of the ongoing nationwide general strike despite the court order.
