Reject This Anti-people Government, Moshood Olajide Tells Nigerians
A student activist from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife has batted the federal government for deregulation of the oil industry. Moshood in a telephone conversation with Tell Times News said the removal of the subsidy will create hardship for Nigerians. Hear him, this type of policy should not be implemented by the federal government in a condition of depressed growth we are in presently as deregulation will automatically translate to hyper - inflation in the market. The Convener of OAU Wikileaks further said that a high rate of inflation for instance will constraint the consumption and investment in the economy as it imposes a high cost structure. It will be recalled that the Federal government through the Minister of Petroleum yesterday announced the full deregulation of the oil industry which has sparked infuriating remark from Nigerians. Moshood however urge the the youths to team up with the Labour Unions in resisting the anti -people policy of deregulation. The former OAU Students Union Security Committee Public Relations Officer also commend the government in broadening the independent generated revenue and tackling of tax leakages, but advised that instead of the government implementing anti-masses policies, efforts should be directed towards changing the Monocultural orientation of the economy by diversification of the productive base to create decent jobs for the teeming youths.
